At Gill Brothers, we have always believed end-of-life rituals honor the dead and heal the living. We are experts in helping families select funeral and memorial options that respect wishes – and budgets. Following is an overview of services and pricing for Green Burial Minnesota and Simply Cremation. But as respect for the environment takes many forms, we welcome a conversation to learn what is important to you -- and how we can make it happen. Simply Burial Plan
Green Burial or “Simply Burial” by Gill Brothers Funeral Directors
While this is among our most straightforward and inexpensive options, services and support from our team are very limited. The Green Burial Plan, priced at $2,000, includes: safe and secure transport of a body to one of our three funeral homes, and later to the cemetery of your choice; necessary legal paperwork, securing a required state burial permit; and death-certificate filing and a certified green burial container. (This can be upgraded or provided by the family.) Please note the Simply Burial Plan can help with a burial vault selection if required or requested, and does not cover such services as visitation, obituaries, cemetery plot-purchase, grave-opening or certified copies of death certificates. It is a simple earth interment in the cemetery of your choice.
Many families choose to supplement the Simply Burial Plan with a range of options, which we will assist with to create a funeral service tailored to your choice including:
Assistance in coordinating any other services or options at the family’s request outside the “Simply Burial” package such as: churches, local veteran’s affairs, musicians, flowers, honor guards, dove release, funeral lunches etc.

Also, additional assistance with writing and placement of an obituary in any newspaper(s). (This does not include obituary fees charged by newspapers. Many families are choosing to forgo this expense in favor of publishing funeral notices on our Web site.) And printing: folders and or prayer cards - set-up/labor fee. Cost of stock is additional.

Visitation or wake. We have more than a century of experience in hosting visitations/wakes for families at our three Twin Cities locations. Our services, priced at $450, include reserving one of our funeral homes, display of floral arrangements, photographs and videos according to you wishes. Our staff, including your funeral director, is on-site for support and coordination. We also have experience with home visitations, if that is your preference. We will help you make decisions for funeral or memorial service coordination. Our standard price for managing all details of a funeral or memorial service at a church or one of our funeral chapels

Ordering copies of death certificates. The Minnesota Department of Health has set the price of $13 for the first copy and $6 for each additional copy. (State law prohibits adding to the price of death certificates.)
